Time to buy the pink stuff

I am continually finding stores out of stock on certain items. The other day I was in the auto dept. at Wally World and I spotted pink stuff (rv antifreeze). It occured to me that the high sales in new RV's and the possibility of supply issues it was time to buy what I needed now. So I got mine. For all you folks living in the frozen north, might be time to get yours. Just a thought.

Menards also has it in the main traffic area going to the checkouts.Remember that the -50°F antifreeze has a freeze point of +20°F, it just will not expand like water.
And yes now is the time, in a few weeks the price will go up and it gets harder to find.

Menards did sell the -50 , -75 ,and -100 RV Antifreeze
I usually buy a case of 6-1 gallon jugs of whichever is on sale
Tried using just air a few years back without success
Now I blow the system out and then fill with antifreeze

Still a wise idea to pour a bit in the traps even if you blow out the lines. And I would add that I no longer have to do either!

Like others, I buy a case of 6 every so often and only use about two or two and a half each fall. In our area the sale on this stuff at the big box stores is about September 15. But no doubt there’s a new new normal so early sales, get it while you can and outsmart the rookies and gouging are all considerations. There’s always cheap wodky I guess.

Like Steve, my compressor does just fine. But you do need to be very thorough. I cycle through all taps and the toilet several times till there's no sign of any moisture, even mist. It still takes less than a half hour.
And as Carl says I need a few cups of pink for the p-traps.
With my Casita I replaced all the p traps with Hepvos so I didn't need any pink stuff at all.

I recently got rid of my truck camper and always just blew it out using a compressor. Never had any problems. Getting a Scamp 16 in the late fall and will have to see if that works out for it. We are in Colorado and it got plenty cold....

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. What is anti-freeze? Is that for when it gets below 65 degrees?

Not yet! I have my first and only "camping" trip for the year planned for mid-November. COVID sucks!

But I will add the minor expense for the antifreeze to my annual cost of ownership. When you consider property tax, insurance, minor maintenance, gas and campsite fees.. I figure that my only trip this year will cost me about $200 a night
