Just wondering what other egg-heads use? Or does the cost of a true deep cycle that fits cancel out the better efficiency of that battery type, so we just settle for the hybrid?
The best bang for the buck, is a pair of 6volt Trojan T105's in parallel, if you can keep your usage between 100% fully charged to 50% charged the batteries will last for 10 or more years.
My first set of Exide 6V golf cart batteries lasted for 11 years of full time liveaboard rv-ing. During that time I read a test of various deep cycle batts and trojan t105s gave the best return for the price.

Of course if you have the money, go lithium you will get 3 or 4 times the service life.

I have a battery from them.. a 120 AH AGM. Good battery but 2/3 ths cost of a 100 AH LifePo4 which has 50% more useable capacity, and other benefits, and only a few small cons... I wont go back to any form of wet cell tech except maybe for a few specialized applications

Eggcentric - Parallel vs. Series

Hello,

"The best bang for the buck, is a pair of 6volt Trojan T105's in parallel,"

The T105s should be in series to get 12V DC.
