Two stage propane regulator failed in two year.

I own a 2017 13 scamp and replaced the two stage regulator twice in four years.
The first time had just a small flame on the stove top. Yes there was a full tank of propane. Drove 200 miles and worked fine at the next camp site. Replace the regulator to be on the safe side. The replacement regulator lasted about year and a half, same issues as the first one. Before replacing the regulator, installed a new hose to rule out the check valve in the hose. Why are the regulators only lasting two years?

The first one was installed by scamp and was not pointing down, second one vertical installation and with a cover pointing down.

Best guess: First one failed because of improper installation. Second one failed because of bad luck.. that rare defective regulator. But even a new regulator should have its adjustment checked, and the entire system checked for proper pressure and a pass on a timed pressure drop test. These require a manometer and an annual inspection by a professional is the official recommendation (often not followed).

Also if you are judging failure by the size of the flame on the stove, then the secondary regulator INSIDE the standard Suburban stove might be the issue.

Gordon after replacing the regulator everything worked fine. Is it possible that the bouncing of the scamp could have knock the regulator out of adjustment? I know better not to turn the adjustment screw with out a manometer. Thanks for the quick reply Joe
