Much better to have a color that stands out. Harder to forget and leave them down when you drive off that way! Or at least that's how my feeble brain works…
Both pads and stabilizers are just regular steel so it didn't take long for them to start to rust. The trailer came with 20" stabilizers. A couple years back we were headed out for our first trip of the season and the dog forgot to crank them up. Good thing they are made to break away easily. Only lost one. A quick trip to the RV store produced a replacement. I took them off to paint them only to discover the replacement is only 17". We're a little off. Hope nobody notices. Raz
We have separate stabilizer jacks and pads; Paul made the pads out of the plastic liner from a refrigerator truck, so they're white, with yellow rope rings to pick them up more easily. The jacks he painted bright red so he'd remember them.
Hmmm. The wife has been lobbying to get a pooch and I think I am beginning to see some potential advantages here. Thanks for the chuckle.
