wheel bearings/manual

I have a 1971 Hunter 10' pop up, may be called Compact Jr. Does not say that on the title. I parked it in Mexico at the beach and the wheel bearings are all salty and rusted. I will be returning to Mexico early June and want to take down new wheel bearings, but have no idea as to the size. Does anyone know the size of how to get hold of a manual so I can look it up?

who knows if the axle has been replaced in all these years?

Still have 4 lug wheels? I would take down a set for 1" axle and 1-1/16" axles. get the whole kit for both sides with seals too. Back in the early 70's there were some real odd ball light weight axles with unobtanium seal sizes I have one of those on a small boat trailer.

The correct bearing for my 1973 Compact II is:

L44649

The brand is SKF

The seal I use is marked: GS-1500DL


I hope that is some help. I don't know if the same one fits an early Compact Jr.

If you have not seen the replies on the other threds, you will want to check. There are several. Mine is below. If it is setting till June with everything in place the hub may be rusted in place. Take about a 2# hammer and a couple of cans of a spray rust release. I've had it happen more than once on old travel trailers at my father's trailer park.
My 72 had L44643 bearings (2 different manufacturers, same number). Napa's replacement with BR14. NAPA's replacement seal was 12165. Be prepared to change the race. I decided to change1 hub. It was only $30.00 or $35.00 for the complete kit (hub with race installed, bearings and grease cap at the local trailer supply company.
I hope all goes well.

The booklet that came with it got wet, but it had no information on mechanics. According to the individual I bought it from the axle is original. I suggest you take both the bearings Brian G. used and those I used. I personally would take a new for each bearing type. Keep them clean and you can return them. Take very fine sand paper and steel wool for the spindle. If it has rust you can clean it up in most cases well enough to get it home.
