13 Scamp Front Jack Lift Falls Off

Hung are 13' 1993 scamp their front jack lift keeps coming off.

I am thinking this hold-on clip is too thick for the groove. Are there are thinner ones? Thank you.

Yes there are all sorts of variations of thicknesses and diameters of snap rings. A good auto parts store should have them. Also, if your local hardware store (not the big box ones) is like mine, they have them as well.

For many things a call to Scamp trailers is the answer. The parts Dept. might have one laying around they can send you. Call their 800 number 800-346-4962


FYI I needed a pair of heavy duty ring pliers to get the ring off and on.

Also check for rust buildup in the groove. You may need to file or grind it clean.

If you have a Tractor Supply store nearby they might also have several.

Thanks for all of your replies. I ended up finding the right 1 (thinner) at Fleet Farm in there auto/jack section. Now it works slick.
