I know the bulb and receptacle are keyed so you shouldn’t B able to put the bulb in wrong however we clever mortals have been able to do just that when not paying attention to the high and low studs on the bulb so make sure U are putting it in correct.
Here is what I do to clean the contacts of the receptacle: I take a pencil that has a soft rubber eraser on the other end. I put the pencil in a drill with the eraser on the other end and put it in the receptacle and run the drill. It cleans the contacts really good. Yes, U may ruin the eraser end however because you never make a mistake writing U don’t need that end anyway.
Then try the bulb. If it now works take it out and coat the receptacle and contacts with dielectric grease, coat the bulb brass and contacts with the grease and insert. If it still works then U have good
electrical contact and the grease will prevent it from corroding again.
