<not sure if this is the best forum section... but here goes>
Quick background - we own a 2006 Little Guy 5 Wide Tear Drop. Bought it used and did some DIY improvements such as wiring in 120v outlets, front storage box that also houses a
refrigerator, cabinetry in the rear storage.... etc. Point is we have some DIY cred.
But... we are ready for a new project and have been watching out for a
Scamp 13' used... Well, we found one but it's definitely a project.
It's a 1972 model. Inside will require a total
renovation. The cabinets and seat structure 'may' be salvageable but will need a lot of TLC. The interior side of the shell seems ok... maybe get away with cleaning. Will need cabinet doors, etc. Cushions are shot.
The undercarriage seems ok but it's difficult to know for sure.... no obvious rust. But I am not a mechanic.
Are there any known issues with these early models that would say 'stay away'?
The outside finish is very dull. From the reading I've done I would imagine it will need to be painted.
Any thoughts on a fair price?
