1999 Casita SD Refrigerator model RM2202 not working ?

Hello , I have a 1999 Casita SD and the refrigerator is not working. I just want to use electric only and not on propane gas or battery. I plug in the electrical outlet and every thing in the camper have power "but the refrigerator is not working or any sign of power. I look at the manu, but still can't find out .I check the fuse, open the out side control panel and try to turn any switch but no luck. Do any body got any suggestion?

Check to see if it's plugged in well at the rear if it's not hard wired.

I will check, and also this "I found that if the camper is not "level" right"- the refrigerator will not work properly too. Thank for your advice-Dave

I'm thinking of replacing the refrigerator with a electric refrigerator?

I bet there are YouTube diagnostic videos galore. Try a search. As you know, you are dealing with a heating element, i think, rather than a compressor.

All electric is an alternative if it fits your camping style. Some run them from solar. I believe Airstream put an all electric fridge in the Nest.

We have a '96 SD 17. Had a little problem one time with the switch on the panel that is on the front of the fridge. When I turned it to run on shore power (110) the switch turned hard and I didn't get in the correct position. All OK after repositioning it. I think you know, and checked, that the fridge is plugged in the outlet that you see when removing the outside lower panel.

Yes, I would check the heating element on the backside of the fridge. If you have a electrician friend get him to see if there is any current draw on the 120 volt cord leading to the fridge. If not that is the problem.

Frig not working.

Will it cool on gas or battery? If so, then checking out why 110 doesn't work is valid. If not working on gas or battery then probably a bad cooling unit.

Check the element

Hey Koy, I believe I answered you on the other forum (but just in case), If you know you have power to the fridge you can do a continuity check on the heater element itself to see if it's bad. The element goes in the flue and you can check it from the back of the fridge. If you decide to replace the fridge and the door seal is in good shape I'd love that door! Bill
