2010 Casita Spirit Deluxe - Door lock replacement

Hi! Hoping for a creative solution to replace the original exterior door lock (FIC#44610 - dimensions 4.25tall x 2.75wide) on my 2010 SD. I can't find any new manufacturers that carry locks compatible with that size. Would prefer keyless entry. I did see an add for a custom-made back plate that would help cover the larger opening for a current standard lock (3.75 tall x 2.75 wide). Would appreciate any suggestions for locks that fit, or modifications????

Casita now offers a keyless pad from the factory. Give them a call and see if it will work for you.

Years ago....the company that makes the lock for these doors....we have a 2011....did a recall. I remember filling out an on line form and eventually getting a new lock and tool to install. Put in new lock....no problem for 10 yrs. You might be able to do some research.....I don't remember any of the details. Good luck.

Fiberglass sheets in various dimensions are available at Home Depot and other stores.
I used a piece when I replaced the shore power inlet on my '77 Scamp with a much smaller male connector.

(Mine is a 2008,) Did the same thing based on their free recall/replacement offer. Got the new lockset, specialty keys to remove the old one, etc. and since replacing it probably near a dozen years ago, I've never had any problems with it.

I replaced that inconvenient little utility hatch with one that is the same width, just taller. I also converted my shore power inlet to a 30 Amp Marine-style twist lock. Just unhook the plug, coil it up, and stow it. Done! No more fighting with the shore power cord, nor is there any avenue for ants and other small critters to crawl up your shore power cord to get into your trailer. The larger hatch also allowed me to mount my hardwired EMS Power Protection unit to the floor behind the Converter.
