Question '76 Boler reno

Hi Does anybody have any experience with spray on cork insulation? Does it protect against condensation and supply some r value?
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Hi Shellvet, I have been planning to use spray cork on the interior on my 72' Boler for some time. I believe there is a minor R value, 8 seems to come to mind, somewhere I read. As for condensation I am not sure. Depending on a quote, i may elect to rent a hopper and spray it myself. The one issue I am looking into is how much will the coating raise the interior surface and how textured will it be. These are concerns I have for when I go to replace the windows and gaskets. I may need to tape off a 1/4" or so around the openings to ensure the right thickness and it's not built up to much for the gasket.

Thank. Sounds like we're pretty much of the same mind. Think I'll rent a hopper from Home Depot and do it myself as well. Just not sure if I can spray multiple layers of the cork spray or if I'd have to use a priner between coats. I'll keep you posted.

Good question. I emailed the Corkco rep and waiting to hear back. I'll make sure to ask if it can be applied in multiple coats, recommended paints (if someone wanted to change colour later) R value, etc

Any luck with the spray cork? Could it be sprayed over existing ensolite?
