ac question

I have a carrier ac model #68rv14102a just wondering if a honda eu2000 will run this unit

Not sure on your unit but if you get down into the reading pa area (about 115 miles from you) i would be happy to test it with my Honda 2000i.

You'll find that locked rotor amps figure is way outside the Honda's capability (13.7A). Luckily, you don't need quite that much power to start it. The 2000 puts out more than its rating for a short time. The only way to really know is to try one (preferably on a hot day).

as a rule of thumb you need a generator sized for 200 - 250 % full load amps for motor starting. Locked rotor amps is 600% of full load amps. A motor draws this for the first couple of cycles (60 cycles per second) and drops down as the motor picks up speed. The air conditioner should draw about 85% of full load amps unless its dirty or very hot outside.
