Does the dometic air conditioner in a 2015 Scamp tend to draw air from inside the Scamp or from outside? I am kind of thinking inside based on the filter location, but I am not really sure and couldn't find anything n the manual. Thanks very much.
All rooftop mounted AC's have two separate air paths. There is one for the interior of the trailer where air is pulled through a filter, run across cooling fins mounted to tubes and expelled via the vents. That cools the interior air. The second path is outside the trailer where outside air is pulled over fins mounted to tubes and is heated then blown outside the trailer. This process removes heat (cools down) a refrigerant that then runs into the tubes with the cooling fins, thus cooling the interior air. Unless the unit was installed incorrectly or there is some failure inside the unit, these two paths for air should never mix.

So then, that seems really different from a car, where you have a choice of drawing air from the outside or recirculating inside air through your air conditioner. Am I understanding that correctly?
Does a window mounted air conditioner in a house tend to draw air from the outside, or does it just cool air that’s already inside the house?
Some home window air conditioners have the capability of either recirculating inside air, usually marked recirc on the control, or drawing outside air (called makeup air) through the chiller coil. Others have a separate control to switch between them. The ones I've seen do not filter the makeup air so you bring in whatever is in that outside air (smoke, small bugs etc.). If you draw in outside air there needs to be an exit for the overpressure so one other window in the house has to be opened a little.
