Any ideas on how to replace broken roof vent

I have a 1973 Tote-n-Tarry with a broken roof vent. The vent cover measures 10x10. Does any one know where I could find one of these? Any other ideas? I would appreciate and help I can get. Thanks, Frank

If you search you will find a 9x9 or "mini 9x9" RV roof vent. It requires a rough opening of 9.25"x9.25". The vent cover (dome) could be 10x10 or larger. Is this what your are looking for?

Your other option (what many people do) is to enlarge the opening and install a 14x14 roof vent.

Welcome to the forum Frank. Have to agree with John, make it easier on yourself and put a 14" vent in, that size will always be available for replacement parts in the future.

One challenge is your roof may be designed for that smaller vent. My 1977 Trillium is that way with a molded fiberglass section around the vent making it taller than the roof (and reducing leaks). To put a 14 inch vent in its place means cutting out that raised roof section. Best at that point would be to create a new taller flange for the bigger vent.

might actually be what you have since it was an old standard. When you remove the old you can measure the cutout.

Or you could retrofit a small round vent with fan such as the Vanair:

But it does not move a lot of air.

I like the idea of going with a 14x14 for future repairs/replacement...etc but I'm going to go with the 9x9 for now. Thanks for the advise!

Yes, that seems to be the case - the roof was designed for the smaller vent - putting the 14x14 vent in would require some cutting that I wouldn't feel comfortable with. Thanks for your input!

Offhand suggestion; paint the the vent lid and any plastic that will potentially be exposed to the sun. A couple coats of paint will do wonders for extending the life of the plastic. There's plastic-specific spray paint available.
