anyone installed cold cathode lights

Hi Everyone

Have purchased several cold cathode lights (see pic below) that are used in a copmuter. Has anyone installed these and can I assume the red is the power and the ground is the black.

How did you install these as it says velco..just not sure how well they would hold

I have them all over my trailer.

Yes, the red is positive, and the black is ground.

A search for CCFL or Cold Cathode will bring a myriad of threads on them.

Red is positive, black is negative. Eggs are not conductive themselves.

In my 13, I used the little velcro thingies that usually come with them, but I found the adhesive on them was not real sturdy, so I ended up gluing the ahesive sides to the wall and to the tube ends.

In my 17, I found some office supply suction cup note clips where the clamp for the notes was round and a perfect fit on the tubes themselves. They also provide a nice offset.

The suction cups work great on a Burros glass walls, so they are "stuck up" under the cabinets and the tubes appear to "float" about an inch below.

Probably wouldn't work with ensolite, and definately wouldn't with rat fur. You'll have to get creative!

The hook end of Velcro with the sticky back works great on Rat Fur. For under the cabnets I use the fuzzy velcro tape on the cabnet and the hook on the light ends. I bought a big roll of self adhesive Velcro

The hook Velcro works fine for the little puck lights you can get at Costco also. You just move them where you need light.

I have put a set in my kitchen, under the upper cabinets. The Fiber Stream has a stick built interior. The wood paneling doesn't have any reflective properties, like white fiberglass does, so I got a roll of shiny mirror-like tape and put a strip on the bottom of the upper cabinets. I drilled 2 small holes spaced 3/4" apart thru this tape area, near where each end of a tube would be, and ran a "zip-tie" in one and out the other and around the tube. 2 "zip-ties" hold up each tube. Between the tubes, I drilled one hole to run the wires thru, and mounted the blue power pack and the switch inside the cabinet.

I just bought a set of those, installed them, but no light
not sure what is wrong....
I connected them directly to the 12v battery, still no light.
red is positive, black is neg.

any thoughts?
