I had the same problem with a Grundig G6 Aviator radio. Tried all kinds of cleaners, then finally managed to remove the gunk with alcohol & a toothbrush.

70-80 mph straight-line winds hit Wind Creek State Park in central Alabama today. Numerous large pine trees blew down, severely damaging several occupied travel trailers. Several tow vehicles damaged, as well. No serious injuries reported. Tornadoes predicted for central Alabama through the night. Stay safe out there....
