Atwood water heater-toggle switch on panel

Hi! Has anyone out there ever have a problem with the rocker switch to light the water heater disintegrating and malfunctioning? Are there replacement rocker switches available? Are they easy to DIY?

A search on Google shows a few different types of switches available. As far as being "easy" to install, that's up to your definition of easy, it doesn't look difficult. Would suggest you ind an RV supply shop near you and bring the Winnebago to them so they can give you the right part.

Thank you for responding! I took the panel where the switch is located. It looks like it's a plug in module that can be replaced. But you're right! It would be better to get a pro!

Yes, and, at least in my case, NO! I picked up the replacement at an RV parts department for a couple of bucks.

The connector to one of the switch terminals overheated to the point where it melted the back of the switch. That meant replacing the connector, as well as the switch. Very short wires & a difficult location to work at. After doing the replacement, I added a switch inside the trailer wired in series with the circuit breaker and left the water heater's built in switch on all the time.

Jon, Thank you so much for replying. I took the panel off and looked at the module. Nothing seems to have overheated. One of the connectors looked loose. I tightened it and it is working.....for now. It sporadically worked prior to that also.
