Awning Problems

I have this problem with the rain runnig down between the trailer and the awning which is fine until it hits the silver band that holds the two halves together then it splatters on everything under the awning. I got lots of good ideas from everyone but God came up with a better one. Invert the awning so it catches water. This is better then the black bear we almost got with our Tundra the night before but not as funny as my sister-in-law with a PHD in Science running her chihuahua through the wash (RIP). And it's not like we've never had an awning before.
