I have the original awning rail for my Boler. I read along time ago you can attach to it with rope. How can you attach to the rail? I am starting to plan this part of build, but have never used such a rail before. Any suggestions or links are appreciated!
They were most likely talking about a rope awning whereas the rope is sewn into the awning along one side and then it slides in the awning rail. This is how most awnings are attached to the trailer. Example below:
You'll find that all your newer awnings use small plastic tubing instead of rope. Rope is old school. And the word 'rope' is mainly used today to describe the type of awning.

Hey, I'm old skool! Nothing wrong with using rope. It's relatively inexpensive, easily replaceable and does the trick as well as the higher priced stuff. Just different methods of accomplishing the same thing
