Awnings

Looking for awning ideas for a 13' Ventura.
The trailer is not straight. There is a bend about half way back.
With this a straight awning will not contact the trailer along the way.
Question? Forget about an attached awning or is there a solution?

Bag Awning should work. I installed one on my Boler 13 and even though the awning rail was a bit longer then the flattest, straight surface of the Boler I just had the rail stick out about 4 inches in the front and back. The rail, I attached it every 6 inches with 3/16 pop rivets and on each end I put in a 1/4 Bolt with a large 2 inch fender washer inside and a cap not to finish it off. Works fine, but as with BAG AWNINGS, one get pretty wet when folding it up in the rain. My Boler had a Carefree of Colorado 6 foot awning and the new one was a 7 foot Dometic.

We installed a Shady Boy on our Scamp and loved it. It may be a little trouble to set up, if your height challenged, but no moving parts to break and drop dead reliable. Went through two big rains storms with high winds without issue.

However, the Shady Boy does not mount tight to the shell and therefore allows water to run/drip down the face of the camper. I imagine this issue could be resolved with the installation of a piece of insulation foam (pink/blue) board from Lowe's or Home Depot and then caulk it in place to hold it between the awning case and the shell. This mounting issue never bothered us so we didn't even consider it a problem. It might be a solution for you too.

Highly recommend the Shady Boy!

Just got a price from Shady Boy Awnings.
$335:00 cdn
They only make one size. 10' wide x 6' projection.
Not the heaviest duty thing I've ever seen but tuck it away when the wind comes up.
I think it works for me.

I’ve had 3 XL awnings, the XL has square post and is more heavy duty.
And there great to work with, should it need repairs.
