Casita just started offering this as an option on the 2025's. I ordered it and hopefully will be able to install it this weekend. The only thing I don't like at this point is that the power cable on the monitor is hardwired.

I put an older version of this on my scamp

https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Moni...%2C185&sr=8-20

Now I did mount it top middle on the back. That meant running some wire and that took some doing to do neatly.

I also have the screen just mounted on my dash at the left right next to the post so it doesn't get in the way of seeing anything. I used the cardboard and painter's tape solution to figure this out where you make a cardboard model of the thing and then move it around the dash and decide where you think you want it. Then you use painter's tape to figure out if that works as well as you think it will. (If it starts getting in the way while driving it is REAL easy to remove and then try again later.

Low Dough Backup Camera

I got a wireless inexpensive off Amazon. Wired the camera to draw 12 volt off running lights. Did this so I can use it as a review mirrior not just backup. Head unit takes power from cig. lighter power supply , but have seen them to pull from a USB. Works for me as I have multiple tow vehicles and can loan out camper easly to close friends .

I have used Zeroxclub wireless cameras in two trailers and they work really well. No signal drop. Amazon~$100.

Tadi brothers makes both wireless and wired backup cameras and has a monitor ithat clips over the rear view mirror in your tow vehicle, giving you a rear view where you are used to seeing what is behind you.
I have it on my Escape 19 and love it.

just Google Tadi brothers, to order on-line. Their phone support is also excellent regarding ensuring you order the right equipment for your rig.

Back up camera

On my truck I use a Garmin blue tooth b/u camera that mounts easily to the license plate holder and displays on my Garmin GPS in the truck. No wiring needed and uses a couple AA batteries. Pretty sure it has enough range for the back of a small Scamp.

I bought a corded display with plug in cigarette lighter power supply and ran the cord into the engine compartment and to the 7 spade plug.
I hooked the camera to the trailer license plate and ran the cable underneath the trailer near the trailer’s plug.
When I hook up the trailer I plug in the camera extension cord to the cord at the car.

I am quite pleased.

Below is the Amazon info.

LeeKooLuu
Backup Camera Easy Setup Plug-Play: HD 1080P No-Delay Waterproof - Clear Night Vision Rear View Camera with Monitor for Car Truck SUV - LK3

And bought a 20’ extension cord I ran under the camper.

Spent less than $50 for everything

I've had a Haloview M7108 installed on my 13' since getting the camper 4 years ago and it works great.

Now 0one thing I did was rig mine so it is not just a backup camera. That is it is not only on when backing up. Instead I have a switch in the camper to turn it on and off and keep it on when I am moving. And the display also is a manual switch so it is on when going forward too. That way I can see behind me.

Now I have been pulled over twice by a cop who thought that I was watching TV while driving.

I wired mine to the running lights, so as long as my lights are on, my camera is on. I wouldn't travel without the camera. It lets me keep an eye on traffic behind me so I can better navigate lane changes.

I thought of doing that, but then I did something else to my running lights. When I replaced my pig tail I rigged in a switch so I can turn the running lights AND a light on the hitch on when not attached to the Tow Vehicle. More details at.

I use an older version of this solar powered, license plate frame back up camera. It only needs 12v power to the monitor, no other wiring required. When towing I take it off the tow vehicle and put it on the trailer. It works well for me because my tow vehicle does not otherwise have a camera.

Casita is now offering this one from the factory. Nice that it is solar powered. I bought it and installed it. Get a chance to use it next weekend.

Back up camera

ERapta makes both wireless and wired. I installed wired version with 4 cameras on my converted box truck.
2 cameras on the back one high one low. One on each side. Works great both on the highway and as backup.
I just bought another same system from Amazon for a 1960ish vintage 11 ft

Where are you all mounting these? Want to just do a solar/wireless one but my license plate mount is kind of cracked and crappy. Any see magnetic ones but that doesn’t help.

Mine is powered and I mounted it on the back top. Then ran a wire through the rat fur to it from a switch I mounted in a cabinet.

If I was solar powering it I would probably find a way to mount the panel on top and then mount the camera right at the back. But that might depend on if the camera would support that.
