Bal "C" jacks stablizers

What model of Bal "C" jack stabilizers would be recommended for a Scamp 13, 2018. The original factory stabilizers are becoming a problem to retract and replace back in storage position. Also, any special problems to look out for when installing the new Bals?

The Original stabilizer jacks will get temperamental after time.
You can make them easier to open and close with a drop or two of lubricant/
Best to remove them from the trailer, and observe where they are sticking.
Pay attention to the spring loaded are at the bracket, and to the telescoping foot and catch
May need to do some "blacksmithing" to free them.
A dry silicone or graphite lube is best, as oil will attract dust.

Thanks Wayne but, I am no longer interested in horsing around with these original stabilizers. At 80 I am having enough of a time just getting down to pull these suckers out to lower them and then again to put them in storage when leaving a site. Lets face it, they are not the most user friendly devices to operate.



I will replace them, I just need to know the correct model # to choose.

I have the BAL light trailer stabilizers on my Trillium. They come in 17" and 20" and either will work. I have the 20" (23026) which accommodates sand pads . You will have to have some tabs welded on to your frame to mount them. And I highly recommend using stainless steel hardware should you need to remove them in the future. Amazon has both (though the picture for the 20" is wrong). If you have a local RV store, they should have them as well.

Yes, dont use anything that dirt will stick to... its better to leave them unlubed than to use something like grease. Also dont use the little bar like Scamp tells you to.. lower tongue to release them, raise tongue 2-3 turns of the jack to snug them up.

Using the bar leads to deforming the soft metal as shown in this photo, and that causes the slider to stop sliding.

PS, this is for general info as the OP just wants to get rid of them.
