I have just finished rebuilding my L400 and I just have one more part to change. I need to replace the locking mechanism tab. I have another L400 to donate the parts from but I can not figure out how to remove the tab. It looks like it is riveted on but I am unsure. You can get this part in a rebuild kit but my kit never came with it. So I am assume this can obviously be replaced.
Has anyone replaced this part before? See my picture for reference under attachment tab. If I can get this fixed......I will have a fully functioning L400. Thanks for your help
Looks like it might be “peeled” on. The piece is put on then the metal on the stud is struck with a hammer to round off the top and make it bigger than the hole so the lever doesn’t fall off, might need to take it to a locksmith for advice/repair, or try contacting Bargman
