With two deep cycles installed now, how can I switch between them? Is there an inexpensive rotary switch?

Many RVers just leave them both on-line together unless they are somewhat different in age, constuction, etc.

However, if you want to switch between them there are numerous (sparkless) switch configurations available from marine supply places like West Marine.

Be very sure that you NEVER have a situation where you disconnect all batteries from a running alternator or you will likely have expensive damage.

Wallyworld sells a switch that goes on the negative side of the battery. It has a green round knob on top and sells for around $5USD.

I would think that you could connect the 2 Positive terminals together then run a ground strap from the frame to the negative side of the switch, on each battery, then you could turn off either battery as you please.

You would not connect the negative terminals together.

That would be 2 ground straps. Each battery would have one of those green disconnect switches installed on the negative terminal and the ground strap to the frame.

look for perko or bluesea switches, it is very common to find a/b or "a and b" switches for marine use.
I think even Cabelas has them.
