Black dots on white silicon

We have a Scamp 13'. Just above the aluminum "beltline" is a bead of white silicon. The white silicon is now dotted with black dots, which we have been unable to remove. Take a look at the attached picture. Can anyone help?

Take it off and replace it with a "kitchen and bath" type silicone which is mildew and mold resistant.
Add Fels-Naptha to your wash water when washing your trailer.

Mold or mildew for sure. I suggest using a good clear caulk next time. Proflex or some other exterior caulk of your choice.

I clean it off with common household bleach, applied with a toothbrush and it usually stays away. Wear eye and hand protection and rinse thoroughly.

This is definitely mold/mildew as I have it on my trailer (Scamp 13) in same spot. At somebody's suggestion here last year, I bought a jar of Concrobium power from Home Depot. Mixed as directed, minimizing foam, and then poured as directed into pump sprayer. Let sit on the belly band silicone for whatever it directed (2-3 hours maybe, I don't remember). Then rinsed it off.

I have done this same treatment twice now as my mold was quite bad. After the second treatment the white silicone over the belly band has been dramatically improved! Drove me nuts!

Just be sure you get the power that you mix in a bucket, not the spray as it doesn't work. The one I got was called "Concrobium Mold Stain Eraser."

It did not harm my trailer's FG/gelcoat either.

Oops, I read my directions and they aren't clear. After pouring into home type pump sprayer (one you'd use for spraying insecticide or what-not) I then pumped it full of pressure and sprayed on belly band. If you don't like that idea, you could spread it on with a crummy paintbrush, which I am sure I also did in order to maximize the amount of product sitting on the belly band.

Clear caulk doesn't stay clear for long. My suggestion is to soak an old white rag in bleach, lay it on the belly band and let it sit there for a few minutes. Rinse and move on to the next spot.

Thanks everyone for the info. It took just one rainy winter here in Western Washington for our 2013 Scamp 13' to develop moldy caulk at the belly band. Will try some of the recommendations once we get back to non-freezing weather.
