Blue stripes?
My husband and I are new owners of a lovely 1977 Trillium 4500. She seems to be in good shape - all shiny and pretty - but her stripes are missing! The owner said they'd been blue but in bad shape so he removed them before shining her up with PolyGlo. Most of the 4500's seem to have blue stripes but I saw a 1979 4500 with orange stripes. Were the colours year-specific? Would love to keep our trailer as original as possible and wonder where to find that information. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

The 4500s should be blue stripes and orange stripes should be on 5500s. Of course people do change things.

Was that year specific Dave?
If so that will be hard to determine. If I recall, there are a number of Trilliums that were dated by the year they were sold, not the year they were made. Perhaps we can go by the serial number David Tilston is tracking.
BTW My 79 has blue stipes.

Is your orange stripe paint or decal?

Any evidence of a Trillium 4500 in the normal locations. The wording was bigger than the stripes. Or are your stipes wider than average? Then again what is average?

I will look closer tonight, but I don't remember any ghost 4500 logos on the trailer.

OK, If you want I can email a picture of mine up with a carpenters square in it for sizing. My words were stencilled the stipe a decal. The words are slightly larger than the stripe. Roughly 2-1/4 to 1-15/16". Wish I knew how to use the photoshop measuring tool.
