Body Shop Recommendation—Seattle Area

Per Scamp’s request, we need to take our brand new Scamp 13 to a body shop to have the fiberglass checked out. There’s a concern that some big temperature fluctuations on our travels home may have affected our young fiberglass shell, creating some creaking/popping noises and door fit issues. Does anyone have recommendations for a shop in the Seattle area? Scamp recommends a body shop versus a RV repair place. Thank you!

I've had good luck with Northwest Coach Truck Trailer & Marine in Olympia:

When our Casita got crunched by a tree several years ago, we used this shop. We were very satisfied. They do mostly big rigs but had two Casitas there at one point in our repair journey.

Thanks for the recommendations--we'll check them out.

Tree crunch--yikes! Glad your Casita could be rescued.

It was about $12000 damage at exactly one year. Almost cut it in half, but it sprung back into shape. They fixed it up like new and later replaced the bent axle, which was not apparent until we started getting funny tire wear.

That sounds like an impressive repair job--the before and after photos must be incredible. Can't imagine how long that would take them to do.

We were at a campground in North Dakota last week, towing our new Scamp home, and a tree came down in a wind storm overnight. Fortunately, it didn't hit any campers, just blocked a road. We breathed a sigh of relief...

They filled a 55 gallon drum with the glass they removed. Hopefully yours will be minor in comparison. Good luck.

Wescraft RV Repair in Fife gets mentioned a lot in these situations; tree meets trailer, etc.

If you search the forum you will find it's also been called WestCraft and West Craft.

Thanks for the recommendation. My husband stopped by Wescraft, and they can't take a look at it until the end of October. Working on figuring out what else we might try.

You might want to look at shops that repair fiberglass boats and yachts.
