I just pulled out the laminate floor that the previous owner had put in my '73
Boler and found several issues.
1. The flooring had been shimmed using small pieces of plywood to level it out.
2. There is
fiberglass with what appears to be gel coat over the plywood subfloor that has a hole in it.
3. The floor is really soft and spongy.
I am wondering if I should cut out the
fiberglass top layer, replace the plywood underneath and coat with new
fiberglass top and bottom? Or as another option put the original fiberglass layer back down and fix the hole that is in it.
An help would be greatly appreciated.
