Boler shopping - is this a red flag?

Hi Boler owners and experts. We're looking at purchasing a 1974 Boler. I've looked at this website and the only red flag I'm seeing is the "dimple" on the driver's side, opposite the door. It's not deep but it's noticeable.

However, on the inside, all the structural elements that should be there are there - so the original closet next to the door and the bar that runs up through the kitchen counter.

Also - it's been placed on a new frame which is in really good shape.

The door is not airtight and perfectly level, but it's not very far out either. Just the slightest gap, barely noticeable in pictures.

So my question to you is, how big of a red flag is the dimple, given the new frame and the proper braces inside? I'm assuming it formed when the old frame started to go. And they've fixed that.

I've also attached a photo of an obvious repair to the outside.

Thoughts welcome.

Looks like a pretty nice unit. The dimple appears to be a different bolt them the others so my first thought is someone added something inside tightened the bolt up whatever is on the inside has a gap between it and the sidewall so the wall got pulled in to the part they added. With all that said I wouldn't be worried about the dimple at all. Once you take ownership loosen the nut on the inside add a spacer re-tighten and I would bet the dimple is gone.

Ok great! That makes sense because it is where the kitchenette is. Thanks for this advice. We are probably going to take the plunge and get it.

It looks solid enough around the dimple. Easily repaired in that area if need be.

Thanks Steve. This gives us some peace of mind. Just talking with the current owners and working to close the deal now. We looked at some that were in pretty rough shape and this one seems good for the price. Not cheap necessarily but certainly fair.

It looks VERY nice for a 1974 Boler 13. The gelcoat is in very good condition.

Just go through the basics:

- Condition of wheel bearings and whether they've been recently greased
- Condition of tires
- Condition of coupler, chains, towing harness and lights
- Condition of interior lights and electrical converter if there is one
- Condition of propane and water systems

There is a buyer's checklist on this website here that you can reference:
