Broke my BOLER emblem.

While working on my metal Boler emblem I cracked it in two peices.

Does anyone know where I can purchase an original replacement emblem?

Thanks

Have you searched "Boler trailer emblem replica" ? Id try to fix the old one, or maybe mount the two parts with VHB tape. A decal may fool some of the people some of the time.Good luck.

Markz, if you are unable to find a replacement emblem, there is a product called "J-B Weld". They have several different products designed for metal, plastics, wood, etc. If you carefully use the J-B Weld, you will be able to put the pieces back together. Then with some careful grinding and polishing with a Dremel tool or file, you should be able to make the emblem look almost new.

Another option is to place the two pieces together on a board and pour plaster-of-Paris over them to create a mold. You could then pour molten lead in the mold or if you know someone with a forge, you could use aluminum. I assume (you know how to spell assume, right?) that the break was clean and the emblem can be pieced back together with only a very minor crack showing. Using lead you would obviously need to spray paint the end product to look like the original.

One other option would be to epoxy the two pieces to a sheet of metal. Then cut around the perimeter of the emblem.

At the price of replicas, if I ever see a NOS Boler emblem at a flee market, I'm going to buy it as a retirement investment.

The $110 replicas are gouging the market, but it is a free market plus it lacks many details from the original. Kind of a caricature of the original.

I prefer the original and will try to fix it. Thanks for the advice.

If anyone has one to sell I'm happy to work out a reasonable price.

I can somewhat understand why they'd be on the expensive side...I pack my mold three or four times before getting ONE to pull cleanly...a lot of time investment to "maybe" get one part. That said...I'm still learning.

I think you're fortunate to have one as a starting point...I started with a picture I found online. Still...I'm hoping to eventually get two "nice" ones for the '69...which never came with them.

Regards,
Al

Tipsy the Boler recently posted on their facebook/instagram about some boler emblems they had made. They were made by modish metal art in Alberta. They looked great, and they were $50 each, which seems pretty reasonable!
