The hinges on one of my cabinet doors were installed at the Scamp factory with wood screws into just the fiberglass and worked themselves to the point where they will not stay tight. The other cabinet hinges have a piece of wood glued inside the cabinet (guess they forgot to reinforce this one cabinet) to give the screws something to attach to other than just the fiberglass.
I purchased 3M 5200 adhesive and plan to attach a strip of wood inside the cabinet so it is similar to the cabinets.
My questions:
1. Is this a good adhesive to use to attach the wood to the fiberglass interior of the cabinet?
2. Should I just use machine screws with washer and lock nut instead of wood screws?
3. Is there a better overall solution?
I have used 5200 and 4200 for that type of use and it works very well. The 4200 is not considered permanent and might be easier to remove if ever needed.
