Cabinet Supports and Range Hood Removal

Hi all, I'm apparently awful at searching the site, so I'm starting a new thread. I need to put some supports in for the upper cabinets. What is the best way to attach them to the lower counter?

Secondly, I have a metal range hood with no lights or anything. It's got some rust on it. I want to remove it, clean up the rust and paint it. I can't see how it's attached though. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Matt

Escape uses some marine hardware to provide support between the counter and the upper cabinets, something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/SHENGHUI-Inch.../dp/B08F3B64ZY

Other brands use some wrought-iron style hardware.

Range hoods are generally are attached from underneath by some screws through the upper surface of the hood. You might have to remove the filters and/or light lens or some sheet metal to locate and remove all of the screws from the underside of the hood.

I like the Scamp tree support post.

Measure twice, order once.

That's gorgeous! It just screws into the side of the lower cabinet and into the side of the upper? Just put some ways backing inside each so I've something to screw into?
