I keep getting these advertisements in the mail from Camp Club USA and recommended by Good Sam and they say you can stay in campgrounds for 1/2 the daily price. The memberchip is $39 for a year and they say if you do not save at least that much you can get your money back. The membership comes with a campground directory of ovet 1100 campgrounds.

Do any of you belong and if so, is it worth it?

CC is a younger and smaller version of Passport America. Here are some links of past discussions.

FGRV earlier this month

FGRV march 2009

RV.NET this month

Searching for " camp club" on FGRV lists every post with "camp" in it, so couldn't search for just "camp club".

RV.NET discussion of value of club membership

RV.NET discussion of Camp Club

My apologies for the off site links.

[b]Did you include the quotation marks in your search field?

1. Searching for camp club results in any post with either camp or club in it. Too vague, too many results, words unrelated to each other.

2. Searching for +camp +club results in any post with both words in the same post, but not necessarily used together.
Closer, only 3 pages of results, but a lot that do not refer to Good Sam's Camp Club.

3. Searching for "camp club" did the trick! Only one page of results, and they all refer to Good Sam's Camp Club.

Link to my search results for "camp club"

we belonged for 1 year and I keep getting emails from them with the updates, one of the problems we found was that they were very selective on when you could use the pass, like on holiday weekends and weeks. Although we got our money back plus from their prices it got to be a pain to try and keep up with it all. Many of the campgrounds and some that are well attended and popular destinations don't take it as they are already filled, some are older campgrounds trying to keep travlers coming in while they are being upgraded which is a good idea I guess. Over the last 3 years they have added a lot more to there list, when we were in it had 1/2 that many listings ans many of them were in Florida and we'd rather use the state parks, it could be a good thing to use while traveling cross country and planning on staying 2 or 3 nights in any particular area. Good Sam's is in the mix with it it seems and we belong to them as well, getting 10% off in there campgrounds and using their emergency road service thingy
