Thanking everyone for all the input. I have also posted on a different site where I have been told
scamp uses/used tube iron for frame, not channel(?) and this is channel. There have been questions about the floor, it is
fiberglass. I have looked in the closet and not numbers or stickers.
Some seem to think it looks, like older
Casita. I have been looking at those and on the older ones I have seen, rear of the wheel on 13 footers the bottom does not go down as far as in front of the wheel, like raised to not drag....this is not the case on this one just as close to the ground in front and behind the wheel, and closer to the ground by 3 or 4 inches through the doorway. I have sent an email to
Casita just in case, but have not heard anything from the yet.
I am still confused about the
Vin and
Scamp camper vin history (E with 3-5 digits according to some chats) but Scamp told me all their numbers start with 1-S7, that they have never used that kind of numbering (again, going from the angle of just getting the frame or bottom half only identified). The person I emailed at Scamp also thought it may be a
Burro (but they have vertical seam, not belly band) or a Casita.
Many people have also said to register as homemade, but the homemade registrations in TX you have to show a receipt for
axle, say you are the maker or who did it for you and it only applies to trailer that will not hold people, travel trailers
fall into a different category. Guess they have really cracked down.
I think I'm past the research stage and may just have to resign myself to just use temporary tags and use it only once or twice year.
I have at really enjoyed reading everyones replies and banter. Thank you.
