Can't find furnace

Hey there. I bought a 1993 Collins 30 foot fifth wheel and I can't find the furnace. I got the gas flowing and the stove lights but not sure how I light my water heater or my heater in general. Don't have a manual and I've looked all over for the furnace. Thanks

You might have to light the water heater from outside. But I wouldn't be surprised if there is a switch or switches inside, and the heater probably lights when you push the thermostat lever to on.

Hey thank you! I also saw that it could be the pigtails on my auto switch regulator. Something about the pressure not being correct so it won't flow through the pigtails. Does this sound familiar?

I've heard of it happening but if you can light the stove it's probably not a problem.

Hello Devin, weclome to the fiberglass rv site. You may not find alot of help here, because very few on use have stick built trailers. Even fewer 5th wheels.
You may find your furnace next to the water heater. Look on the outside of trailer for the exhaust. Photos I've seen show an access cover there.

Devin, make sure you have water in your water heater before lighting.
You will damged it if there is no water in it.
Your furnace is most likely all electronic.
Slow down and take a breath. Located your appliances and right down the model numbers.
Google owners manuals for those models and learn how they operate first.
You dont want to damage any items because you wont like the cost to replace them.

OK I'll slow down. LOL. I understand. Yes there was a light switch for the water heater but a warning that said do not turn on until you fill up the water heater. I appreciate your help. I read something about the pigtails on the regulator. If the pressure is not correct it won't flow all the way through the trailer. The guy that said that said that his stove did work but it wasn't going all the way through to the furnace. Do you think maybe I need to change my regulator and pigtails?

I would start with the pigtails first. $12-$15 each. The regulator is probably close to $60. But fill the water heater by connecting a hose and then opening the hot water on the faucet. When it stops "spitting," the water heater will be full. Then turn it on. If you are near the water heater and listen, you will hear it the burner. It could also be a 2-way heater that will run on 120 vac also.

Decent price, Devin. But before going for it, try to light the water heater and furnace first. No sense spending money unnecessarily.

Your regulator is fine. You most likely have air the gas lines. Your stove is the easiest to light. Since you open the valve lets the air out of line and lights.
The air get compressed going to the other appliances. Sometimes you have to blead it off.
I still think you will be best off too identify what you have first, learn how it operates.
Im sure you'll find everthing is ok and its operator error.
It's all a learning curve.

I don't even know how to go about locating the furnace itself. If it's electric than there would be no pilot, correct? So I should bleed the gas lined by turning the stove on?

Most RV furnaces do not need to be lit. They are started by a 12v ignition system when you push the thermostat up to the desired temperature. If there is air in the line it will eventually clear. If it doesn't start, it could be caused by a bad thermostat, a bad sail switch, a door or insect clogged burner, etc.

Are you sure you weren't named after the trailer?
