Carefree awning rail bracket

I have a Carefree awning attached to my 2003 Outback Trillium. There are brackets at either end. They are attached with 2 bolts, washers & nuts on each that are very rusty. I would like to replace them with SS.

So far I have been unable to figure out how to remove the bracket. The top nut and washer came off fine, but the lower nut is between the top and bottom of the bracket. Very inaccessible for removal.

Anyone else dealt with this?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hi Barb, I don't really know what you have there, but if there isn't a logical solution, don't rule out using a Sawzall or similar tool to just cut the bolt off. Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands!

Barb, Photo's are always helpful. There is a good chance someone has already wrestled with this problem and can offer a solution, once they see the problem.
