Casita fiberglass finishing Interior?

HEllO,

Thanks for all of your help here so far. I currently have a Casita Trailer that was built around 1985. The windows leak and so the whole upper floor (under the table) was wet thoroughly. I went ahead and gutted it and now I have all of the carpet off the walls and the flooring out.

My question is has anyone tried to just gel coat the inside of the trailer, instead of putting carpet (or other material) back? it seems to me you would loose the insulating value a bit... but, have the opportunity to spot future leaks and clean the material better....

Any suggestions would be great thanks.

You don't just lose the insulation factor a bit, when you remove the wallcovering, you lose it all. Wallcovering also helps control noise. Like rain, which in an uninsulated trailer can sounds like you've got your head in an overturned bucket. Might be okay during the day, but may drive you nutz when you're trying to sleep.
