Casita leaks at the sinks

This can't be an isolated issue with my GF's 2010 Casita 17'. Both of her sinks drip where the PEX connects; they need to be fiddled with and she's annoyed, to say the least.

PEX tubing is directly attached to the faucets and I'm curious if I should convert them over to the connection style found in homes. This Casita design seems to have some shortcomings, it appears.

Thx.

It is 2010 Casita? So it is 13 years old and do you have any other problems? Should be an easy fix. Have you checked the Casita forum?
Let us know what you did.

Probably just the fitting need to be tightened or replaced......any hardware store should have what you need. Easy fix.

It's more than just tightening a fitting, check out this pic below. The PEX come straight into the bottom of the faucets, which is not something that happens in a residential application. In any case, I'm going to change this solution to a more standard solution with softer hoses in between the faucet and the PEX tubing.

Casita leaks

This is just me thanking and I am probably wrong but I think RV fittings are size for hose and then a long came pex. I think the hose was 7/16 inside diameter and the pex is half inch. So if you don’t get the clamp on the pex really tight, I think it’ll leak.

Hi Ash,
Must be an Arizona thing. WE live in AZ also and my hot water fixture under bathroom sink of our SD 17' started to drip about a week ago. I tightened the brass fitting under the sink and the drip stopped.

In my case, the PEX tubing is not the issue. That connection is solid, with a black band that is very tight. The issue is the brass connection under the faucet and the tiny parts and pieces that need to be in there just perfectly for a super tight connection.

For some reason both sinks in this camper leak when the lines are pressurized with the pump. On every trip out, my GF has to fiddle with the fittings so that the dripping stops for that trip, which as you can imagine is very annoying.

where the pex turns up to the faucet there is a hand nut that screws to the faucet, loosen that up and look inside some times there is a soft cone shaped washer that can get pinched or worn, try replacing the cone then tighten the hand nut before changing things which can be a hassle to match up with multiple trips to hardware store or rv dealer to try to mate things up.

There's also a what seems like a c clip washer that keeps that cone rubber piece in place. That entire assembly is wonky at best and is reliant on that thin disc c clip looking thing. Both sink faucets are experiencing failure at this location.
