Casita refrigerator front panel falling off.

First the plastic strip along the bottom of the door fell off. Then the plastic strip along the top of the door peeled off. Now, the fiberglass panel on the front of the door has "slid" down, and is dragging on the floor. All this while sitting motionless in an RV storage facility. I was planning to sell my Casita, but now there is another thing to fix first. I read online there were some plastic rods that actually held the panel up, and that they must of fell out. So I will go look for them. This is on a 2015 Spirit Deluxe 17.

Refrigerator front panel repair

2012 Casita LD with regular Dometic fridge:
Bottom strip came off when unsecured door swung open in travel! Panel kind of gouged into floor! Took entire door in garage (lifts up & off easily) and Gorilla glued the channel strip back on. Never had that problem again. Did the top while I was at it, too.
Glued inside door pocket holders in place while I was at it. They dropped off the lousy grooves frequently & you know what a bounced Pepsi can do!! Glueing makes trays a little harder to wash, but worth it!

Speaking of the Dometic fridge door, (aka like your Casita has, and any other Dometic fridge doors wherever they're installed,) I would also highly recommend the addition of door hinge supports, which just screw onto the existing door and over the hinge. If your fridge door hinge cracks and falls off, you will be out some major bucks to replace the door. You can pre-emt that from happening, or even repair one that the hinge has been broken on, by installing one of these. (I actually installed one on both the top and bottom hinges, but at least buy one and install it on the top hinge.)

FRIDGE HINGE REPAIR/DAMAGE PREVENTION KIT
All too often we hear of the top hinge breaking on the 17-foot Dometic fridges. This is bad news when it happens because that top hinge is part of that quite expensive door! This stainless steel bracket is easy to install and will repair that broken hinge permanently or prevent it from happening on one that's not yet broken! The very thin profile is nearly invisible when installed. This is a must have for all 17' refrigerators.

Fridge Hinge Repair/Damage Prevention Kit $24.95
