Cheap 12VDC Flatscreen TV on WOOT

There is an off brand 19" flat screen TV on WOOT for less than $90.
Although not advertised as such, if you look at the closeup image of the back you can see the 12VDC input clearly labeled.

WOOT is 1 day offers only with a flat $5 shipping for up to 3 items.
We have bought a number of items from them over the years so I can vouch for WOOT, but maybe not for the item itself. But hey, $90 and it runs on battery !!!!!

Check it out here:

$95 to $100 will by you all kinds of 12v powered TV's at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Video only, etc. No freight costs of course, and you get to see the picture prior to purchase.

Can't say that I have ever seen a 19" flat screen that will work on 12 VDC at WalMart or Best Buy (and I have looked), much less one for less than $100.

There was a version of the VIZIO 19" (Model Number must end in MV not VA) that would work on 12VDC, at Sam's Club that I once bought two of, but it was not offered at WalMart or Best Buy, and was almost $200.

Please let us know a make/model etc.

BTW: WOOT shipping is $5 for up to 3 items..... and I have had deliveries in less than 3 days

The secret to buying 12v TV's at chain stores is to not ask the sales folks. They have no clue that they have 12v TV's. Just look at the "wall wort" and read the output on it. If it's 12v you're good to go. You might need to buy a cord from Radio Shack, if not included. I've bought 3 12v TV's, 2 from Chain stores. One was an Emerson Brand (19" w/DVD, $179) from Wa-Mart and the other was a Best Buy house brand, Insignia (19", $98). The 24" w/DVD Supersonic I ordered from the web. Around $200 as I remember. Maybe $225

It's much easier to just look at the back of the set. If the cord is permanently attached, it is 120 VAC, if it has a smaller plug in cord you can check the voltage usually near the connector.

Those with an external power supply box are usually for universal 120-250 VAC - 50-60 cycles input and have a DC voltage output, wihch is also stamped on the back of the set. Most are 12 VDC and can be used with a simple cable, however some, such as the VIZIO 22" required 18 VDC.

Of the 8 or so 12VDC flat screens I have installed in the past 3 years I have yet to find one at WalMart, Target, COSTCO or Best buy stores, however BestBuy.com does offer the 19" Insignia on sale today for $119 and the model displayed shows a 12 VDC input.

Still, nothing "under $100" though.

I had an Insignia ( 15" ish? ). It could only be viewed properly straight on and at eye level. So, make sure you see the picture you are going to get, before you buy it.

I replaced the Insignia with a 13" Seiki 16:9 LED, 1360 pixel x 768 pixel, and runs on AC or DC. Comes with an HDMI cable and a remote and cost $79.99 at London Drugs. ( plus $20 environment fee and taxes ). Note: no DVD player on this model.
Much better picture quality.
