We are trying to remove years of grime from the aluminum frames of our '76 Trillium. What should we use that isn't too nasty to work with? We are trying baking soda and green scrub pads but it is slow going as the grime has solidified. We are worried about discoloring the aluminum. Thanks for any help or ideas.

Hi: Tara_B... I used a product called "Nev-r-Dull" on all the alum. trim on our former
boler. It comes in a can and is avail at Home Building Centers here in Canada and most Hdwr. stores. It is a roll of wadding cloth(Wool) with the cleaner soaked into it!!! Use it till it goes black and rip off another bit. Buff off the alum. with a clean soft cloth and you will sparkle. Doesn't scratch either!!! Also good on S/S as well.
