Hi, Ya'll
I'm new to the group, just bought a 82 Scamp and found a whole bunch of info on some mods I'm interested in using.
What I'm looking for is some detailed instructions on installing an AC in the Scamps closet
I'm sure the information is there I just cant find it !!!!
I would appreciate any help you could offer.

Thanks

JB

I was hoping someone with experience would reply to this. I looked at a Casita that had the closet AC removed. It had the vent on the front that you see in pictures but it also had a vent in the floor. Not sure if there is much more to it than having a space where the AC will fit and enough vents to let the heat escape.

Yes Casita did install in the front on the floor... but discovered the front vent would leak badly when driving through a rain storm. Water intrusion is never desirable. Scamp has install in the bottom of the closet, one vent on the side of the trailer the other through the floor.

That being said, most prefer to do a window install. The nice part is you can leave the A/C at home when it's not needed due to the time of the year or where you may be going. Less weight is always good and that would leave all cabinetry in place for storage.

Anyone know if it is possible to have one of those low-profile roof ac units installed in a 13 foot Boler or Scamp? Couple companies have them now - like Coleman...

Unless the roof has been built to support a A/C the answer is no. Bolers for sure would not be one of them due to their age.
