Connectors for a DC circuit

Hi everyone,

Now that the Texas heat is about to begin subsiding, I'm planning the next phase of my complete Lil Bigfoot renovation. When wiring several fixtures on one DC circuit, what type of connectors do you recommend to run the wires from the main cable (Anchor boat cable 14/2) to each fixture? Can you use a butt connector to splice the cable in or would it be better to use a 3-way connector similiar to those used in boats?

Thanks,
Carl

I usually solder and heat shrink mine, but it should be whatever works good for you.
If using crimp style connectors, make sure you get a good crimp connection.
Cheap crimpers usually don't work that well.

I absolutely agree with Joe. Cheap tools are awful. You usually have to work just as hard with a crappy tool as a good one (whatever tool) and often have to do the job over because of it. Bite the bullet and buy a good crimping tool AND a good rivet tool. You won't regret it. Skimp on the hammer....
