True and false... true that electrical
components do not improve with age like a fine Scotch... but false that older devices were not well built. In fact many older ones were built with much better components than are used in recent years.. and they lasted much longer. In fact the keyboard on my desktop PC which I use for hours almost every day is having it's 34th birthday in December. It goes clickity-clackity and I love that.
However all that is moot when comparing the design of old "dumb" converters or chargers to modern "smart" ones. Modern chargers are usually much improved. Now if we could only get the modern design with the quality parts of yesteryear.. that would be gold.
