Converting a Reese Hitch

We are modifying a Reese hitch for our fifth wheel. Went by the instructions that came with it as to where to mount it in the bed. Well, didn't work. To far forward. We have the full size Toyota Tundra with an extended cab but if we move the rails back we run into cross beams. I have contacted Scamp to see how they are doing it but am wondering if anyone here has a suggestion other then getting the hitch with the slide which is what it is looking like right now.

Thanks, Donna. This isn't quite as bad as the awning was.

I think since we are going to be pulling other trailers as in one's Greg's company makes, we thought best to go with the slide.
