cracked egg

Hi this is my first post. We have 2012 19ft scamp. In 2013 I backed into a tree (was going slow). This spring I noticed some crackling in the Shell around the small break in the fiberglass. I don't know if is speading.
First what do I do to repair the hole?
Second, is there anything we can do about the crackling? Don't know how post a photo.

What do you mean break in the fiberglass?

You sure it is not just the gelcoat that has a crack?

You live nearby, I would just take it to Scamp.

Photo is much better than a description. Take a couple of good photos from a couple of angles and people can give you better advise. I'm sure it can be fixed

Hi John,

First off, welcome to the forum! The good news here is that fiberglass is readily repairable. The nature of the damage will guide what type(s) of repair, or perhaps even just appropriate maintenance, will be suitable.

I see that you are getting information on posting photos. Different angles or lighting may help to show the cracks. Once you post some pictures, you will get lots of input.

If you are at some distance from Scamp, there are other businesses who work on fiberglass boats, trailers and vehicles. So, depending on your location, you should be able to get some help with this from one or more sources.

If you are inclined to make a repair yourself, there are also threads on this forum and elsewhere addressing how to repair fiberglass. Good luck!
