Creaky Fiamma awning - lubrication?

The Fiamma awning on my 2015 Scamp 16 is rather creaky and sounds to me like it could use some lubrication. It's been through some rain in travels the last two years. I did not find any info on lubrication maintenance in the manual. Any advice before I start squirting some kind of lubricant on all the moving parts? Thx

That's a good question. We just bought a Parkliner (in Oct '16) with a Fiamma 45 crank out awning, I went to the Fiamma website and pulled up the instructions.
After wading through five langages ... I found no mention of lubrication.
If the joints and pivot points are plastic on metal, It might be best to avoid and lubricants. They can just collect dust. Dirt and oil makes a grinding compound that can make things wear faster. Perhaps a good cleaning with clear water and an dry with an air gun to dislodge any dirt...?

Q - What maintenance should I perform on my awning?

A - We recommend lubricating the spring loaded lateral arms at the elbows and at both ends every six months with a spray lubricant. Use silicone or a similar product to keep the awning running smooth and free. Also, we recommend lubricating the swivel joints at the top of the legs.

Thanks for posting the answer here. I eventually found that Q&A with some Google searching. You should consider adding that to the Fiamma owners manual.

Tri-Flow lubricant is a spray lube made with PTFE (teflon).
It works great on all sorts of materials like plastic on metal hinges etc.
It is better than silicone spray which would likely do well on your awning frame.
It also comes in a squeeze bottle.
