Cushions!

SOS! We thought our scamp cushion covers from 1985 were "incredibly clean" until I took one off... oh my gosh. The DIRT! But now... how on earth am I going to get it back on the foam cushion? I am positive that someone has figured out some sort of hack for sliding the upholstery back on.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

I used plastic dry cleaning bags over the foam, (which I read about here). then worked the cushions back on. Still not easy, but definitely better. you can then rip the plastic out, or just leave it in place. Sure wish the zippers were longer!

I have some more to do, too. Maybe someone else will have a better way!

I fold the cushion in half, like a hot dog bun, then slide it in and let it unfold.

Use a dry cleaning bag like Anne said. Wrap up the foam then poke a hole in the plastic and use a vaccum cleaner to suck the air out, it will compress the foam to about 1/3 it's size. You can leave the plastic in the cushion or remove it, your choice.

I turned my covers inside out and rolled/scrunched them down over the foam. Not really quick or easy but a couple of evenings and I was done with the whole set.
