Dometic Fridge

I have aquired a 1970 Trails west Campster that has been re- fitted with a "newer" Dometic fridge which is about 10 years old. (model 2202)

The fridge has not been run for over a year. When I try to use the LP source then I depress the gas valve and manual igniter to light up occasionally I get a brief flame up but the burner light does not stay lit. I have coursed through the fridge manual with no luck, any ideas on what is happening?

The fridge works fine on 120V

Sometimes, when they haven't been on propane for a while, there is quite a bit of air in the lines. The best thing that I have found is to turn your stovetop on and leave a burner burning while you're trying to light the fridge. It should light up pretty easily after that.

NOTE: This can also happen when you turn the propane bottle off before you turn off the fridge.

One thing I found out the hard way on my 1978 boler: the thermocouple has to be positioned well into the pilot flame. You would think the thermocouple would burn up but, it doesn't.

My main burner would not stay lighted until I repositioned the thermocouple well into the pilot flame.
Believe it or not, I think it had been like this from day one. My trailer also had some 12v wiring errors that I corrected.

you may want to inspect the venturi for spider eggs and webs. they like to do that to gas grills.
