dometic rm 2410 refrigerator

I have a 1997 16 foot scamp trailer with the dometic rm 2410 refrigerator. The frirdge works fine, but ices up, found that the door seal is bad. Dometic does not sell the seal as a part, you have to buy the whole door, for about $350.00. Now I found a web site that sells after market seal for about $49.00 plus $41.00 s&s to the US, the web site is from Australia

https://www.fridgedoorseal.com.au/fr...ometic-rm2410/

Has anyone dealed with this web site? I would like to order a seal, Anyone know if the web site can be trusted? Anyone know of any source in the state that a sells after market seals?

Looks legit to me. You may drop them an email to see if they ship to the US and get a firm shipped price in US dollars.

Another option may be a DYI fix - just buy some generic door seal and install with adhesive or double sided tape??? Never done it but just a thought. Ya gotta have a good seal.

In the interest of time and money I would match the seal as close as possible at Lowe's or some place like that. If itdoesn't work there is very little lost.

Hugh,

It appears to be part no. 3108708.375 and looks to be available in the States, though at a higher price.

There's an RV junk yard that also carries new stuff, service and RV sales in Denver, CO. It's got a lot of stuff. Been there for many years and was just there last month. They may have a seal or door that would be much cheaper than others maybe. Phone 303-659-1725 or toll free 1-800-222-6737. They are actually in Henderson a suburb of Denver. It's worth a phone call at least. We got 2 fridge door shelves for $15 each. New they were $60 at least.

Revival of old thread on replacement Dometic fridge seal

Well today I had enough of the cruddy worn out seal and having to need to defrosted it every 2 or 3 weeks. "Nice" rainy day so I pulled off door after looking online for a new seal. No chance I'm spending over $700.°° for a new door if I can help it. Or a $170 plus for refrigerator door seal kit, so off to Box store post tearing and cutting out old seal and scrubbing down with bleach no looking back. I bought 2 rolls of EDM vehicle door seals Extra Large. Cost about $30.°° so now off to try to replace the seal.
So I'll try to take pictures of it as I go and update my post on it or add few more post.

On with my attempt to replace the seal.

I bought 2 packages of the seals but accidentally got different items. Good news for me one completely did door. Now the failure but maybe still a win with second seal kit. But it made it to thick so cut it in half after installing on frame of refrigerator.
Not perfect but it should work at least better than it was.
